Musical Heresy

Kayla and I just put out a new song at Reverb Nation.  It's called, 'Musical Heresy'.  I've also been doing the stand-up regularly.  Any Tucsonans out there can feel free to cheer me on.  This weekend I dyed my beard red.

Open Mic Night

Last night I performed my 'Report Card Day' routine for open mic night at Laff's Comedy Club.  The audience was very receptive.  There had been a comic before me with the last name, Fullbeard.  The first thing I said when I got on stage was, "My name is Paul Notfullbeard".  Then I told them my chicken/egg joke.  "What came first, the chicken or the egg?  The rooster.  Can eggs even cum?  I know they get laid."  Then I did the routine and everybody was rolling in the aisles.  I definitely plan to do that again.  Oh, and in January I'm going to be auditioning for the local improv comedy troupe, 'Not Burned Out, Just Unscrewed'.
On a different note, I've contacted the local radio station KXCI about the possibility of getting Chief Loh's music on the air.

New Songs

Chief Loh has been quite active of late.  We've put out an amazing five new songs recently!  '4N6 of Life', 'Never Never There', 'Reachin' Out', 'One Soul' and 'Thursday's Wrath'.  Of course, any descriptions I've put out about the songs is only my opinion.  Kayla would be able to tell you her perspective on what each song means to her.
Also exciting is that our daughter made a video for 'Thursday's Wrath' which gives you the lyrics to the song.  This is important in my eyes because the song is very moving emotionally.

Report Card Day

I just wrote and performed a stand-up comedy skit that Kayla recorded.  It's called 'Report Card Day'. I wrote it while I was at the store buying chocolate.  When I got home, Kayla recorded it.  I've put it out on Youtube and our Myspace page.  Hope you like it!

Septic Tanks and Irony

The other day I passed by a septic tank and was taken aback by its uncanny resemblance to a submarine.  I had never noticed that before.  So I guess, in a way, you could say that submariners are the shit.
I have been trying to get through on the phone to Interfaith Community Services for rental assistance for almost two months now.  Today was the first time I actually heard  the phone ringing instead of a busy signal.  I thanked my lucky stars that I could keep eviction's icy grip at bay for another month.  A man answers and informs me that they have a brand spanking new policy that started today which says that they cannot help anyone who doesn't have a child under the age of eighteen living with them!  Holy krizmak, them bollocks are a biznitch!
But today hasn't been all bad news.  I went to the Tucson Urban League for help with utility assistance.  At first they told me that the first available appointment was on November 28th!  Tucson Electric Power told me they were going to cut off our electricity on the 3rd if we don't pay them.  The lady at the counter next to me was talking to a different representative and they figured out that she wouldn't be able to keep her appointment on the 10th of November.  I asked my representative if I could fill in that appointment that had just opened up.  She said yes and so that worked out to be not as bad.
Then, on the drive over to a place with free wi-fi, I passed by a church with a marquee out front that said, "God's delays are not God's denials."  That got me thinking that everything will work itself out.  It was incredibly encouraging to remember that there is a bigger picture that today's trifles are just a small part of.
